It was a joint venture of Orjan Andersson and Adam Friberg to start the sale of secondhand products in the market. Gradually, they realized to start their own manufacturing unit in the year 2004. Thus, this gave birth to a new brand name Cheap Monday, which is widely famous today.

The logo of Cheap Monday was the smiling skull with the topsy-turvy crucifix on the forehead. The Swedish company Var designed and created this logo. The chief designers were Bjorn Atldax and Karl Grandin. A lot of criticism was raised for the logo that was labeled on the back of the jeans. The logo was thus, altered and the crucifix was replaced with the vertical line. With this, the company made every attempt not to hurt the any religious sentiments.
