New Titleist AP1 irons – Advanced Performance You Can Feel
Titleist AP1 irons are advanced performance, multi-material, dual cavity, contemporary cast irons providing looks, feel, shot control, and higher flight with forgiveness for the skilled and aspiring player.
AP1's high tech multi-material construction features a steel body, tungsten nickel sole, elastomer bar and aluminium cavity plate. These materials combine to deliver both performance and feel.
The dual cavity design of the Titleist AP1 irons pushes weight to the perimeter for forgiveness. A central cross member featuring a soft elastomer cushion provides structural rigidity behind the impact area while also dampening face vibration for better overall feel.
The lower cavity of the Titleist AP1 iron is enclosed by a tungsten nickel box. This high density material locates the Centre of Gravity low and deep for performance while also providing low frequency vibration dampening for outstanding solid feel.
Titleist AP1 irons offer a contemporary, confidence inspiring appearance in the set up position with a traditional profile shape, soft blends, modern proportions, and semi-underslung hosel. The attractive metallic back cavity plate with multiple elevation graphics, textures and colour contributes to the AP1's great looks and bag appeal.

To achieve the ball speed and launch conditions, the AP1 and AP2 incorporate multi-material construction and a dual cavity. The back sole is comprised of a tungsten nickel alloy intended to optimise launch conditions and for a larger range of swing speeds.
The AP irons are built using four different materials: a steel body, a tungsten nickel steel box, a central support bar with an elastomer cushion, and an aluminum cavity plate. The AP1 iron body is cast from 431 stainless steel while the AP2 is forged with 1020 mild carbon steel.
Dual Cavity, Multi-Material Design: Upper and lower cavities optimise weight distribution to the perimeter, while the precise cast 431 stainless steel body with high density tungsten nickel box provide both feel, forgiveness and performance. Elastomer cushion on central support bar dampens vibration for outstanding feel.
Tungsten Nickel Box: High density material located in the back and sole encloses the lower cavity to locate weight low and deep for performance while providing structural rigidity and low frequency vibration dampening for unmatched feel.
Thin Face: Distributes additional weight low and deep to help improve the weight distribution and performance.
The AP1 irons will come with the True Temper Dynamic Gold High Launch Stock Shaft which is a mid-weight shaft with a lower kick point. If graphite is more your flavor, the Aldila VS Proto-T 75 made exclusively for Titleist is the stock shaft and both come standard with the Titleist Tour Velvet Rubber made by Golf Pride.
