Can you hear it?
If you were raised with another language in which certain letters and sounds were non-existent, would your brain ever recognize those letters or sounds. Ex: As a baby raised in a home with another language. As an adult has major head injury, retains knowledge of birth language and has difficulty. with language learned in schooling years. would they ever be able to learn the sounds assoc. with the newer language? my curiosity is piqued as this is the sit. I face everyday. It is impossible for me to talk on phones or with people I don't know because I can not understand their words.
Yes, I believe so. I have some experience with foreign languages. All of the sounds are possible with the human tongue, unless you alter it. It would be a little hard to learn the new language though.
