What is the best way to maintain the battery life of a laptop?
I use a laptop for school and by default, it doesn't have the best battery life. I'd just like to get some tips on how to keep the battery in good working order. Does keeping the laptop plugged into the wall damage the battery if it's charged to 100%? How often should I let the battery drain? Things like that.
Only charge it when it's around 15% or so. Never leave it plugged in when its already full, this will start draining the capacity of the charge it's able to hold. Try to not let the battery fully drain itself, although not proven, it can also drain the life expectancy of the battery. But every battery will one day have to be replaced, usually they last 2-3 years, if you don't use it too much it should last about 4-5 years. Battery's cost about $40-50 so it's not too much of a big deal.
