Selmer SAS280 La Voix II Sax
Never one for resting on their laurels, Selmer have come up with the new SAS280 La Voix II Saxophone, and if fluid keywork and pure intonation are characteristic you are looking for, luckily these are just a few the new II has inherited from the original La Voix. But this updated model is not just a mere copy, as it is able to offer players a tone that is easily blended and has more focus thanks to a more traditional bell size.
As Selmer says:
“No sonic stones, no huge bells, no zebra finishes. These saxophones are all horn - no hype.”
If you need a saxophone that is quick and offers fluidity through all the registers with a specially design neck offering slight resistance then the Selmer La Voix II can deliver. So for superior response, it is the natural choice, and I’ve heard that teachers prefer it for air stream and embouchure development. Then there are all the “little things” that make the La Voix II a great saxophone, like mini-rib construction (except sopranos), traditional bell flair, treated leather pads, multiple adjusting screws and high F# (G on sopranos). Another little feature that rounds out the offering is professional spring tensioned compact key design for quicker facility.
Finishes
As with all Selmer saxophones there are a number of creative finishes available for the La Voix II, standard on the alto and tenor is yellow brass with a clear lacquer. Optional finishes include bright silver place, copper brass and black nickel place with lacquer keys. The soprano and baritone ass a warmer timer with clear lacquer over rose brass. And in keeping with long standing Selmer tradition the body and bell feature fine engraving.
Mouthpieces and Cases
For steady intonation, even tone and excellent response, all four models come with a Selmer USA mouthpiece. selmer as700. And then there is a new case which has excellent storage capacity, is lighter while thoroughly protecting the instrument.
