low disk space help pls?
hello i got a dell intel(r)celeron(r)cpu 2.40GHz,2.39GHz, and 256MB of ram windows XP home edition version 2002 service pack 2 ... the problem is a bubble comes up with low disk place so i do a clean up , but its still not enough so it takes me to add and remove programs but i dont no what else i can remove~?? any ideas .. i dont no a lot about computers as your gathering....firstly im scared to delete anything else , I NO HAVE A DVD BURNER SO NO GOOD PUTTING IT ON CDS , want one but no memory lol...also had a bubble come up with vurtery memory .... cant remember what it say please help
The other guys have more or less answered your main issue (low mem problem) but as for the low virtual mem issue, sounds to me that you may need to add a couple more RAM chips to get it up to speed. Nowadays, most PCs could do with at least 512MB of RAM although I would strongly recommend you to have 1GB of RAM. Programs now require a lot more mem than the progs of old. In fact WinXP itself needs all 256MB for its core functions. So if you have other progs that uses your mem (which, like all of us, I'm sure you have...) it does not have enough mem to run the other functions.
RAM chips are considerably cheep now as compared to those days - make sure you get one that is compatible with your current chip.
