Choosing a Perfect Camping Location
Camping is a great way to get away from your daily routines of work or school, eat, sleep. It provides the chance to experience nature to an extent that most people just can't do everyday.
What is the best way to pick the perfect camping spot?
Before looking for the ideal camp site, you must first find a campground that meets your needs. Luckily, the World Wide Web has turned this task into a simple process, since most campgrounds have an Internet presence. You may preview the campsites online prior to making the trip there, permitting you to make an informed decision on your campground selection.
Keep in mind however that much like menu-pictures in a restaurant, a campsite always looks a bit more glorified than it actually is.
The first step in choosing your campsite is to decide on the type of camping you want to do. Some campgrounds offer primitive camping, but when you see primitive on the sign, what does that mean?
At primitive campgrounds you must bring ALL your supplies of your own. This covers your shelter, any necessary gear, plus additional items you may need as well as the basic items such as a first aid kit. Primitive campsites are sites without electricity, showers, or even water and pit toilets. Hence, they are "primitive". These sites tend to be deep in the wilderness.
On the other extreme, you'll find campgrounds that offer hookups for water, waste, and electric - all in a beautiful setting. You can even find spas at certain campgrounds!
Most campgrounds fall somewhere in between these two extremes. Campings in private parks will more than likely provide all the amenities that you desire. Many even have laundry facilities, shops, and game rooms and they welcome long-term guests. Most private parks also have organized activities such as bingo or kids-activities for their guests.
The Cost of Campgrounds
Fees at private parks are generally higher than those of public campgrounds. Modern campgrounds in state parks offer a variety of different setting from rustic tents to resort like cabins. A number of them provide connections for electric, swimming pools, shower and flush toilet facilities, guided tours, play areas for the kids, and so on.
Most camping facilities within state or national parks are usually very simplistic. Fire rings, pit toilets and picnic tables will most likely be found here. The good news is that these campgrounds are very affordable as they may be free or only cost a few dollars per day.
Make your campground reservations early during good weather.
Note that during nice weather people tend to settle in early. It's important to arrive early (and bring a little luck) if you wish to snag the most desired spots.
Do you wish to camp by the swimming pool and playground? This would be a handy thing for the kids yet it also might present a noisy situation and heavy pedestrian traffic to deal with. The same holds true for sites located near showers or bathrooms. People are likely to be walking by your tent day and night.
Are you someone who needs the sounds of a noisy city or do you prefer a more quiet setting? Camping offers something unique for all people. There's no doubt you can find the perfect one to suit your family's needs.
