Who here have participated in a 40 yard dash?
The local health club that I go to sponsored a 40 yard dash for anyone that's a member of that club and non-members. I got up early not knowing how many people would be there-I'd say there were about 10 people that were ahead of me. If you watch the NFL combine recently, players go through two 40 yard dashes. I figured I'd give it a shot since I don't know how fast I am in the 40.
I brought with me compression shorts and a t-shirt to wear (just like what the future NFL players would wear when they run the 40). I waited about 15 minutes for my turn, got into position, ran my first 40 at 5.32. Ran my second and final 40 at 5.26. Yeah, I'm not the most fit guy out there and I exercise from time to time, but I thought it was cool to try something new out.
What about you? Have you ever participated in a 40 yard dash?
Every year doing summer lifting for football we do the 40 at the beginning of camp, and a couple months later at the end. I don't remember my first time, but my second time was 4.95
