EZGO golf cart wont start. 2 cycle engine wont run but starter/generator works?
Has spark and getting gas to the carb. as long as the accelerator pedal is pushed, the starter runs but the gas engine will not run. Does this engine have reed valves? I am a mechanic but do not know much about 2 cycle engines. It may have low compression, but I am not sure what is normal for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you
The very most important thing about 2 cycle engines is to make sure that they have fresh, clean fuel. Even if fuel is left in the tank and carbs over the winter, the engine probably won't run well in the spring. Flush out the old fuel and put in a fresh mix of 2 cycle gas. If that doens't fix it, you probably just need to adjust the choke.
