Which route is nicer the Oregon Coast or the inland route along the 5 fwy?
Hi, we are taking a road trip starting in los angeles, california to seatle, wa. We have 6 days to conclude this trip and we are coming back by plane. We are visiting the red wood coast in northern california (ferndale,eureka, redwoods) and going north from there to Ashland Oregon, I am having a hard time deciding wich route is nicer to take from there on, the one along the coast or the inland on the 5fwy? This is our first time visiting Oregon and I have no Idea, so any sugestions are very greatly apreciated! Even a Zigzag route from the cities along the 5fwy to the coast sounds good thank you so much
The 5 is fast and not that secnic until you get up near the Oregon border. So if you need to get there fast, use the 5. If you want to go slow and see beautiful things take the costal road and stop a lot. but either way you will have fun. If you get a chance stop by Mount Hood and stay at the lodge there. It was built during the depression and is really amazing. There is Skiing, even in the summer. Great food and beautiful surroundings. The lodge is hand made and stunning.
