block paving sand washes out but cement stains blocks help?
if I fill my block paving gaps with kiln dried sand it blasts out with power washer. If I mix sand with cement it stains the blocks what is the best way round the problem?
Brushing in a dry mix is the problem as it still coats the block in cement powder and more brushing doesn't remove it so I have to wash/wipe each block but the original block colour is still ruined.
If your paviors need power washing then carry on and do it but you have to accept that you are going to wash out most of the sand in the joints. Once you have finished power washing allow the paviors to dry thoroughly then brush in new kiln dried sand. You can then treat the whole area with a sealer which will help to prevent the paviors from becoming disscoloured.
