2008 City Golf question?
I own a 2008 City Golf (Gas 2.0L ) in which I bought brand new in 2008. Unfortunately I still owe a lot of money on it, and I dislike the car a lot, and especially dislike the local dealership and their service costs.
Since I don't trust the dealership mechanics, how long are these cars good for, and what necessary repairs am I going to run into? My warranty is up and it has 120,000 KM (75,000 miles) on it already. I want to trade it in and get a GMC/Chev truck while the kms are TOO high but I'd like to know what kind of repairs I'm in for if I continue to drive the Golf. I have 5 years left to pay on it so I don't want the car if I have to make any serious repairs.

Just maintenance. Timing belt and waterpump at about 100,000 miles. A buddy of mine has over 260k on his 2002 golf 2.0. This is probably the best gasoline engine VW ever made, very little problems, very good gas mileage. Suspension bushings maybe will wear out. Why would you trade for GM??
