Is nail polish non-corrosive on steel?
I want to draw a line on my golf putter to help with alignment. I want a paint-like substance with the following properties:
(1) The line must have high contrast with the steel for easy visibility.
(2) The line should be easily removed after drying should I make a mistake in application.
(3) The line should be durable when dry.
(4) The material should not be corrosive on steel.
I think nail polish has the first three properties. Does nail polish have the last property? Please give on-line references. Also, please suggest alternatives if nail polish is corrosive.
Nail polish is an organic lacquer (nitrocellulose dissolved in a solvent e.g. butyl acetate or ethyl acetate) containg no water and is definately non corrosive.
