What Does Pro Golfers Do To Stop Coming Over The Top Golf Swing? How?
Even pro's consult teachers to ensure that they have a grooved swing that is right for their structure. However, that is an expensive way to go. I learned how to control my swing by slowing it down a bit and becoming hyper-aware of what my body is doing given the conditions.
For example, if I relax I can make the club path inside out, outside in or a perfectly balanced arc through the bottom of my swing. This allowed me to learn how to use those same motions to fade or hook at will. Try to practice swinging without aiming for a ball but rather aim for a dime. At the same time carefully watch the path your club uses as it crosses your feet and learn how to change it at will. This will force you to become far more accurate in your motion.
However, this is easier done in practice sessions than in gameplay. Due to stress I can easily forget where my focus should be. This happens when I am actually on the course and my choice of nemesis is staring me in the face (i.e. water hazard, trees, etc.) and the stress takes over your golf swing. Cheers!
