Full name was Salvador Dalí Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali Domenech. He was a Spanish artist and became one of the most famous painters of the twentieth century the century. He was a surrealist and his work is symbolized by unusual, fantastic and unreal images that are said to have been influenced by Renaissance painters. His most famous work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in 1931. Besides painting he did the sculptor, the movie theater and even a caricature of Walt Disney.
Dalí's childhood was influenced by the events that shaped his personality and psychological work. He was the name of his brother, who died before Dali Dali was born and named after him. He was possessed by the reality of his alter ego, and fought to prove existed and was not a shadow of his brother. (Martinez-Herrera, 2003) His father was a well known lawyer and was a strict disciplinarian, while his mother encouraged his talent. (Saladyga, 2006)
Dali first studied at the cole des Beaux Arts in Madrid and was inspired by metaphysical painters de Chirico and Carra, while there. Just as he was a great admirer of the Pre-Raphaelites and realism of French painters of the 19th century, began to combine styles and abstract methods. From 1927, Dalí presented in Madrid and Barcelona, and at that time was considered one of the painters of his generation increased. In Paris in 1928 came in contact with Picasso and other Surrealists, Dalí subsequent exposure led decisively in the surrealist movement in which he ruled for the next ten years.
