VIRUS! How do I remove? Pleeez Help!!?
I turned my computer on this morning and after about 10-15 minutes I got a message saying something like:
NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM "DCOM server process launcher terminated unexpectadly"
So then I tried the whole F8 thing with no luck. While I was trying to fix this problem some Total PC Defender program started downloading and I hear its a rouge malware virus..now I cannot even use my comp (im using a different one right now) the desktop icons are gone and I cant do anything..not even Malwarebytes scans. What on this beautiful Earth should I do? Thank you sooo much for any advise.
If it will not let you go to safe mode, cut the power to computer, hold power button in until computer turns off or unplug from wall or if laptop, remove battery. Virus can not control electricity! Wait at least 15 seconds or longer and turn back on. By default just after logo screen, you will see the boot to safe mode screen and choose safe mode with networking and hit enter. If you are unable to download necessary tools to remove this, use a different computer to download tools to and copy to a zip drive,flash drive,CD/DVD or external hard drive. A CD is the cheapest to use, if it gets infected, throw it away!
