Optics fighting Does the U.S. military?
While the special forces had used OEGs Singlepoint as soon as the Son Tay raid, the U.S. Army, Marines and Air Force took a long time to specify standard optical sights on their rifles. In trying to determine which sites have been officially adopted, it is worth remembering that the purchases were made by the training division to the size and thousands of soldiers and women.

Early in the Global War on Terror Marines decided to give shooters designated ' sights of the rise and set Trijicon TA31 ACOG on the M16A2 mounted. This was so successful that the Marine Corps decided to go to the question universal with two versions of ACOG. EOTech designate these the TA31RCO-A4CP (AN/PVQ-31A military designation) and TA31RCO-M4CP (AN/PVQ-31B military designation) for the M16A4 rifle and M4 carbine respectively. U.S. Army adopted the same model with slight modifications for its own M16A4s as the M150. The Marine Corps has recently adopted a variant of the ACOG for their M249s, known as the Day Optical Brigade, which is a 3.5x ACOG thumbnail with robust reflection at the top. The Marines also took a 6x ACOG appointed half the day view to use in their M240s.
