What on earth possessed the staff at the golf club to remind us even more of the election via these cocktails?

Um personally on the odd occassion I play down at waterlooville which is getting rare these days, one like to relax unwind and generally talk about other more important stuff like pebbledashing and getting a playing partner's relative to pop round of a quote etc, its where business is done not the unmitigated bs thats on the net telly and radio thats is the election cobblers. One feels a p&s question coming on.
That's amusing - especially the 'Gordon's on the rocks' cocktail.
Like you, I don't play much these days - my membership's lapsed, along with the collapse of my left leg, my Equitable Life pension and reliable weather - due to global warming or is it BP ?
Although it wasn't a club rule, our Senior Member always insisted Religion and Politics were NEVER to be discussed over a calming and much needed glass of something - so I can't imagine what has possessed these members of staff'.
(Some snake-oil salesman from Gordon's or Booths might have promised them a backhander for increasing sales in May - but whatever lies behind this, one hopes the Secretary will sort it out soonest.)
Not that you can rely on anything or anybody these days.
