Advice on how to protect my kids againist my std...?
About 2 yrs ago i was dignosed with HSV2 and had never had an outbreak. I am a married mother of two, i also have had the gtalk with my husband about the dignoses. We have never been unfaithful we dont know how long i have had. But anyways I just got my first out break and is freaking out. I dont wanna give it to my kids.. I even go has far as bleaching the toilet after i use it. to washing my hands every hr.. I am now taking my drity clothes and puting them into garbage bag in far that they will catch it .... I am SCARED about me giving it to my childern... I need advice please...
Relax and keep in mind that HSV2 is an STD, sexually transmitted disease. It is transmitted sexually, you do not get it from hand shakes or hugs. You do not get it from having your clothes washed or coming in contact with the clothes of someone who has it. As far as toilet seats, typically peoples butts and thighs are what touch the seat, not the genitals. So, for the hypothetical transfer of HSV2 from a toilet seat you would have to let a herpes sore touch the seat, a very awkward seating position, then sometime after someone would have to sit on the seat in the same very strange position allowing their genitals to come in contact with the same area. This is not a very realistic scenario, and is probably not something you should worry about.
