Savior For Strugglers Ping K15 Fairway Wood Review
The Ping K15 Fairway Woodis ideal for those who struggle with fairways. The head is oversized and with a longer, deeper face the Ping G15 fairways and this provides excellent levels of forgiveness. As the head the larger than standard it gives a great zing sound at impact and the feel is very good too. Around the Christmas is when you can find a lot of cheap golf clubs online and you can take the K15 fairways home at a good price.
The K15 Fairway Wood has an elongated head design that increases the moment of inertia by 25%. Together with an external weight pad, this new design ensures natural club head rotation to improve accuracy and distance. The low profile design of the K15 fairway wood lowers the center of gravity for improved performance while inspiring confidence to launch the ball higher.
The Ping K15 Fairway Wood features a larger head design that has positioned the mass of the club away from the club face to help increase the moment of inertia and lower and deepen the centre of gravity to provide a dynamic loft at impact that produces a higher trajectory.
Like the K15 driver, the K15 fairway wood uses Ping's patent pending Straight Flight Technology that utilizes an external weight pad to place 6% of the clubhead mass towards the heel of the club. This promotes a natural clubhead rotation through impact while the clever design means the external sole weight pad is barely visible at address.
The flight is a little higher than a G15 fairway, but not much and as long as you are not playing in windy conditions, mid-handicappers could consider this club too. The SF Tec (Straight Flight Technology) 'bulge' on the heel side of the sole is subtle and helps to turn the club over at impact to reduce the likelihood of a fade. Overall the Ping K15 Fairway Wood is a great fairway wood for higher handicappers.
