how to clean my white saddle blanket?
it has stains from the black girth straps. thankyou
Depending what the saddle blanket is made of you've got to be careful so it won't shrink.
I would recommend putting some baking soda onto the stains and ammonia. Rub this mixture paste into the stains until it loosens the stain and moves. Then use white vinegar and water using a cloth dipped into the mixture start wiping off the baking soda and ammonia. Continue until it is rinsed out and it looks good.
If the saddle blanket has been wet before and has not shrunk then you could use cold water and wash in the washing machine but don't use the dryer. If you already know that the material is made of wool then dry cleaning is a better option.
