Is rain/wind enough to delay or cancel a flight?
Okay, I am freaking out. I have a flight on Tuesday from Oakland to Los Angeles, and the predicted weather forecast is: Windy with periods of rain. High 54F. Winds WNW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 90%. I have to go home for Thanksgiving and this is the first time I have been on a plane in five years. Help?

Hi the only thing to stop the flight would be a surface wind component blowing at 90 degrees to the take off runway at or above the crosswind limit of the aircraft, different aircraft have different limits, these limits are there to ensure the aircraft on its takeoff run remains directionaly controllable up to its rotate speed ( the speed at which the aircraft wheels leave contact with the runway surface, rgds Eddy
