How long should we stay in Costa Rica for our honeymoon and what should we expect to spend?
We're planning on going in early November or early December. 3rd question-which month would be better? November is cheaper and better for us but maybe too rainy...
I want to see Monteverde, hike through the cloud forrest and over the hanging bridges, zip line, see Arenal, relax in the hot springs, play a round of golf, ride horses on the beach and see both a black sand and a pink sand beach. Ambitious huh? I was hoping we could do all this for $3500 over 7-10 days. I've talked to 2 travel agents than seem to think our budget might be tight but then I hear about people visiting for a week for $1000... So how long do you think we should plan on for a relaxed trip and will $3500 cover it?
Also are the beaches better on the Pacific or Caribbean side? I was thinking the East coast but after some research I think I'm wrong. Anyone know the best place for pink sand?
Sorry I know that's a lot- thank you for reading all that!!
Your budget is just fine! I don't know why people still use travel agents. A lot of them have never even been to the country where they book their clients and they give out a ton of wrong info and over charge people.
Just find great informational websites and book everything yourself.
I recommend flying into Liberia and staying in the Papagayo area for a few nights. Then take off and go to Arenal for a night or two and then Monteverde for a night or two. Finish the trip back in the Papagayo Area for a night or two. Please see the below websites for information on hotels, tours, restaurants, etc.
