how can i get zip ties off of me?
they're too tight to get scissors in between them and my skin and they hurt. i just want them off and i can't figure out how to do it.

Slip a thin card under it. Maybe part of a playing card. Enough to protect the skin. Now use a razor knife or sharp steak knife to cut the tie.
Tools: a wire nipper would be great, if you have tools.
As far as "can't tell anyone". If you can't get them off yourself, face it and get help. You can seriously cause permanent damage you'll have to live with the rest of your life. Maybe walk (?) to the firehouse. They have tools, are used to odd problems. If you have to, go to the ER. They have a tool just for cutting off rings that are too tight - it will work for this. Trust me, this will not be the oddest thing they saw this week. Embarrassment is temporary, damaged flesh is permanent.
